Just in case the weekend was not what you expected (read: couch, tea, and Lifetime original movies), then there's a remedy to kick-start the work week with a bang. Following along the lines of my post about being a local tourist without feeling like one, the Bikes, Bites, and Brews tour ($45-$65) from Bobby's Bikes (465 N. McClurg Ct.; 312-915-0995) takes an ordinary tourist-type activity and turns it into a food and drink extravaganza (with a little exercise mixed in) every Monday (today) through Friday at 11 a.m. until Oct. 31.

Within the course of four hours, you'll tool through Lincoln Park, Lakeview, and Wrigleyville, making periodic stops to chow on samples of hot dogs, pizza, cupcakes, and beer. As an added bonus, you'll learn about the history of the neighborhoods and food (think Swirlz Cupcakes and Goose Island Beer Co.), too. Good thing you have 13 miles to burn off some of the decadence — though you better watch the beer samples, or it will be a long trip home.
