The brainchild of Cary Taylor, executive chef at The Southern, The Southern Mac & Cheese Truck brings a new batch of mac options, such as sundried tomato and caramelized onion (shown left) and a Fall-appropriate version with smoked gouda with apple and walnut. The truck hits the streets around 11:30 a.m. and usually stops in two or three locations for lunch and dinner. Follow the truck on Twitter to find out where it will be parked this week, or head to The Southern Mac & Cheese Store (60 E. Lake St., 312-262-7622), where you can order one of a dozen mac dishes daily.
