Armitage's newest shop, The Green Goddess Boutique (1009 W. Armitage Ave., 773-281-5600), believes that glamour and green should go hand in hand. This is the second location for the Earth-conscious shop — the first super-popular locale is in Hinsdale — but the new space clocks in at 4,500 square feet and is loaded with both vintage and new items, including gorgeous antique area rugs and Moroccan poufs, lighting fixtures, home accents, jewelry, and clothing.

Founder and owner Elyce Rembos is a former photo-stylist who worked with models and celebs in New York, and she believes today's woman wants a mix of vintage and modern items in her wardrobe in order to create a unique look. "The focus now is about creating your own individual look and less about status-seeking labels than in years past. It’s about finding unique pieces and working them into your wardrobe in new and interesting ways," Rembos says on her site. While individuality is a goal, charity is also front of mind. The Green Goddess Charitable Foundation receives a portion of each sale and uses those funds to support charities including women's and children's organizations and environmental groups.

Stop in to pick up delicate vintage jewelry from Bittersweet (shown above right), Nature Girl Designs' hand-crafted photograph belt buckles and belts, Brightly Twisted's Spring collection of tie-dyed pashmina and gauze scarves, and so much more. Eco-friendly style has never looked better!
