How do you improve a Chicago legend? Bring in boutique hotel guru Ian Schrager (shown left) and super-celeb chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, who plans to replicate the magic he created at New York's ABC Kitchen, which won the James Beard Award for the Best New Restaurant of 2011, at the Pump Room (1301 N. State Pkwy.). Expect a seasonal menu, reasonable prices, and a return to a buzz level not seen since the Pump Room's 1950s heyday.
