So you still haven't scored a reso to Girl & the Goat. Now you can do one better by grabbing tix to Chef Stephanie Izard's cookbook release party Wednesday night, Oct. 5! From 7:30 to 11 p.m. at Salvage One (1840 W. Hubbard St.), Izard will be celebrating Girl in the Kitchen, her first cookbook, before starting her national book tour. Not surprisingly, this isn't a cheap wine and cheese-and-crackers kind of event. In typical Izard style, the party will feature some of the best chefs in the city cooking, mixologist Benjamin Schiller creating custom cocktails, and DJ Ochs spinning.

Some of the chefs who will be creating original dishes inspired by the cookbook: Chris Pandel of Balena and The Bristol, Paul Virant of Vie and Perennial Virant, Charlie McKenna of Lillie's Q, Rick Gresh of Primehouse, Koren Grieveson of Avec, Giuseppe Tentori of Boka and GT Fish & Oyster, Izard's fellow Top Chef-alum Dale Levitski of Sprout, and Jesse Oloroso of Black Dog Gelato.

Tickets are $100, and sales benefit Share Our Strength, a nonprofit dedicated to ending childhood hunger in America by 2015. I'm kind of surprised tickets are still available, so I recommend you get yours ASAP, and if you don't make the party, check back here on Thursday, when I'll bring you a recap and postevent pics!
