Weekend Tips: Eat, Shop, See

This weekend, eat a free cupcake at a new shop, fill your dress wardrobe at a great sale, and check out the city's buzziest show.
Eat Here: To celebrate its grand opening on Friday, Jan. 7, Crumbs Bake Shop (303 W. Madison St., 312-263-6500) will give away 1,000 cupcakes. Arrive at noon to get your goodies and watch Ald. Bob Fioretti cut the grand-opening ribbon. I'm hoping for a Squiggle (original chocolate cake filled with vanilla buttercream and covered in chocolate ganache icing) and a Brownie (chocolate cake filled and frosted with chocolate fudge and topped with walnut-brownie bites)!
Shop Here: The holidays may be over, but that doesn't mean you don't need a new dress or two! As part of the Winter Whiteout Sale on Saturday and Sunday, Division Street's super-cute Le Dress (1741 W. Division St., 773-697-9899) offers an extra 20 percent off all sale merchandise, including dresses from Nicole Miller, Milly, and Trina Turk.
See This: The new production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at Steppenwolf Theatre Company (1650 N. Halsted St., 312-335-1650). The dramatic show, written by Pulitzer Prize and Tony-Award winning playwright Edward Albee, is full of lots of cocktails and some marriages that are seriously on the rocks. Steppenwolf ensemble members Tracy Letts and Amy Morton star. Tickets are $55.
