(Pre)Monday Detox: Whole Foods' Wellness Club
No way are you detoxing on Monday. It's a holiday, after all, and the unofficial end to Summer, so live it up. But before you do, RSVP to a Sept. 6 party celebrating Whole Foods' new Wellness Club (1550 N. Kingsbury St., mezzanine level). The club — designed to help members make healthy lifestyle choices through "coaching, delicious food, and a supportive community" — officially launches on Labor Day, but it will celebrate with a bash on Tuesday at 10 a.m., complete with refreshments and giveaways.

It's $199 to sign up for the club. and dues are $49/month. But as a member, you get access to tons of stuff: a 10 percent discount on a huge list of healthy foods at Whole Foods, unlimited nutrition and cooking classes and coaching sessions, and discounts on yoga, massage, and more at Whole Foods and other awesome Chicago shops (Go Cycle, West Elm, and Fit Lincoln Park are just a few). Still not sold? All classes and events are free next week, so you can give them a try before you commit. Check out the Whole Foods website for a complete list of classes.
