This Week's Must-Do List: Viewing Party, Fashion, Food, and a Top Chef

Why reserve your socialite status for the weekends alone? Spring has officially arrived, so dig yourself out of Winter hibernation mode and check out one - or more - of these events happening around town.

Love the new Fox police drama The Chicago Code? It's worth checking out for the action and the fact that it is actually filmed here. Trade your couch for a plush chair or bar stool at the Lobby Lounge (150 W. Roosevelt Rd., 312-564-2100) on Monday, April 11, and settle in for The Chicago Code viewing party. The 150-seat lounge (nestled in the Kerasotes Theater in the South Loop) will project all the action on 50-inch televisions, and if the show isn't enough to entertain you, the view of the Chicago skyline will. The show starts at 8 p.m., but you can enjoy food specials and themed cocktails like the Officer in Route at the bar (pictured) all night long.

This Week's Must-Do List: Cocktails, Spring Fashion Shows, a Fun Ball, and More!

Cure the Monday blues with cocktails at Watershed (601 N. State St., 312-266-4932), where Sepia's Andrew Zimmerman and Joshua Pearson serve as guest bartenders for the kickoff of Shift Drinks on April 4. The mixing and shaking (see that beautiful bar photo above?) goes from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. (for those of you who aren't worried about work the next day). All drinks ($9) and tips go to Pearson and Zimmerman's fave charities, so that paycheck of yours won't be going down the proverbial drain.
Also beginning on Monday, Mercat a la Planxa (638 S. Michigan Ave., 312-765-0524) will be offering a yummy five-course menu inspired by one of the secret ingredients used on Iron Chef America. The menu is only offered on Mondays at lunch (from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) for $16.95 and dinner (from 5 to 10 p.m.) for $34.95 and will change every two weeks. Want to know what the current secret ingredient is? While the restaurant may not unveil it as suspensefully as the host from the show does (I love that guy), the details will be revealed a few days in advance via Twitter. The April 4 and 11 menu will feature Mexican chocolate (think Mexican chocolate linguine with smoked duck and doughnuts filled with gooey chocolate).

Join Us This Week at The Underground Style Series!

This week marks the launch of a super-stylish series of events that we're cosponsoring at The Underground (56 W. Illinois St., 312-644-7600, shown above). The Style Series' six events, which start this Thursday, March 31, will showcase some of the hottest Spring trends through runway shows from some of Chicago's hottest shops, including Bonnie & Clyde's, and this week, the always-amazing Sofia Vintage. This is a nightlife event, so doors don't open until 9 p.m., and the shows will start right at 11 p.m. - giving you enough time to enjoy a few cocktails beforehand.

The shows will continue every Thursday, through May 5, featuring awesome brands like Adidas Originals' new Star Wars-inspired line and Furla accessories. Thursday's show will feature a totally unique vintage fashion show from Sofia (shown on gorgeous models from Agency Galatea), the boutique favored by celebs including Leighton Meester, Nicole Richie, and Juliette Lewis.
